A SHORT INTRODUCTION

I am currently working as an event producer and a video editor. I passions lie within the arts and my heart belongs to performing. I particularly enjoy acting in front of the camera (TV and film) and for an audience (theatre). I have been pursuing acting ever since college and was living in Manila, Philippines. I have done a couple of modelling jobs but nothing big. I have also acted in some student film projects as favors to friends.

Moving to Toronto in 2018, I was hoping to jumpstart my career. Get a fresh start. The ultimate goal is to work professionally as an actor - to get paid for doing what you love.

My Story

My Story

HOW I GOT STARTED

Like most girls, my performance background started when I was 7 years old as a ballerina. I have been dancing up until university as a cheerleader, who was on track to becoming a lawyer. I was a serious student with a clear view of my future when

I discovered acting. And how I got into acting is an interesting story. It started with a silly dare among friends

to try and audition for a school production, the catch - if you got picked you have to do it. I went in,

did a stint for the directors, and got a call about being casted as the female lead.

The feeling of being the star of the school play hasn't really sunk in, even as I have religiously

attending rehearsals. At the back of my head, I was thinking,

"I'm having fun with my friends, that's why I'm here." It wasn't until company call after the

performance for critic's night did I realize that I had a potential. As the critics give their notes to the

gathered production crew and cast members, they turned to me asking if I have acted before.

"No, it's my first time acting. Aside from playing a flower or a bee in grade school."

And this is what they said, "You are amazing. I can't believe you haven't done this before."

From then on, I have been involved in other school productions as I kept cheerleading and doing well in my studies.

I graduated with a degree in Political Economics with Specialization in International Studies but I no longer wanted to become a lawyer. I wanted a career that involved being creative. I wanted to act. I wanted to become an actor.

I took on jobs that would allow me to be creative, put to use my acting, singing, dancing skills to use. However, the need to have a stable source of income is great. I was able to land a job as a marketing executive but with the heavy work load, I wasn't able to do any acting on the side.

When opportunity came for me to move to Toronto, Canada, I said to myself that I would have more freedom to do what I love. But being in a new country, with absolutely no connections in the industry, it has been quite challenging. However, bit by bit, I'm building my contacts and network. I have auditions here and there. But I'm still nowhere near my dream. But I am staying optimistic that I will get there.
